In partnership with the Ateneo School of Government and the Affiliated Network for Social Accountability in East Asia and the Pacific , the Southeast Asian Institute officially launched the Checkmyschool Project in Pagadian City on November 26, 2014 with a Volunteer’s Orientation Workshop. At least 110 individuals from students to professionals participated in the event.
Mr. Anthony Regis, the Checkmyschool area focal person pointed out that a total of 79 schoolswill be covered by the project. Volunteers will be deployed to all schools under the Department of Education -Pagadian City Division and will observe, record and verify information pertaining to the conditions of services, facilities and finances in each school.
The Checkmyschool project is a social accountability initiative that seeks to promote transparency and accountability in the education sector in the Philippines.
