The Southeast Asian Institute of Local Governance formally opened its School of AgriTech in Oroquieta City, the capital of Misamis Occidental.
The school will serve as a training and research center in agriculture technology in the hope of fulfilling the SAILG’s goal of promoting productivity in agriculture through the development of innovative technologies and approaches. The center features a Winery/ Vodka Production Facility that will produce alternative coconut-based products such as Lambanog, Biodiesel and Wines.
In terms of Academics, the School will offer Diploma and Certificate Courses in Horticulture, Winery and Vodka Production, Animal Production, Aquaculture and Agriculture Crop Production.
The SAILG School of Agritech will serve as a Learning Center for the ASEAN Open Institute and hopes to give at least 100 Indigenous youth free education by 2017.
